After he witnesses the murder of a gangster, Frank Johnson has to run for his life. The police approach his estranged wife Eleanor (Ann Sheridan) and ask her aid in locating her husband. Although reluctant at first, Eleanor becomes obsessed with finding Frank before the killer does.
